The pattern maker is the professional figure responsible for creating the patterns for any type of women's clothing, based on industrial sizes using size 42 as the base. Unlike a tailor, who makes custom-made garments, the pattern maker transforms the designer's idea and technical sheet into standard measurements for prêt-à-porter (XS, S, M (42), L, XL, etc.).
The annual pattern-making course is designed to train young professionals capable of creating any type of pattern, both for tailoring and industrial production. Through the perfect cutting method Made in Italy, students will learn to adapt patterns even for customized, tailor-made garments. The course will also provide skills in manual size development and CAD software, ensuring proper fit according to the required variations.
The course aims to teach students the entire process of transforming a designer’s idea into mass production for a fashion collection.
